How to Clean a Marble Shower
HOW TO CLEAN A MARBLE SHOWER
Marble elevates the look of any bathroom. Since no two pieces of marble are the same, it adds a natural, one-of-a-kind beauty to showers, floors, and countertops. To keep marble looking its best, consistent and proper cleaning is essential.
Why Marble Needs Special Care
Marble begins as limestone, which makes it vulnerable to etching from hard water minerals and soap residue—especially in showers and other wet areas. That’s why it’s important to wipe down marble surfaces after each use to prevent buildup.
What NOT to Use on Marble
- Acidic limescale removers
- Lemon, vinegar, or citrus-based cleaners
- Bleach or ammonia
The Right Cleaner for Marble
A pH-neutral cleaner like ADVANAGE the Wonder Cleaner® is ideal for marble shower floors, walls, and other delicate bathroom surfaces. It dissolves tough stains and watermarks without damaging the marble or its sealant.
How Often to Clean
- High use (more than 1–2 times per day): Clean 2–3 times per week
- Light use (once or twice per day): Once weekly may be sufficient

Optional: Polishing Marble After Cleaning
- Combine 45 grams of baking soda with 1 liter of water to form a paste
- Apply with a clean cloth.
- Allow the paste to dry for about 5 hours.
- Rinse with warm water using a microfiber cloth.
- Dry buff with a clean microfiber or chamois cloth.
Pro Tip
Seal marble with a penetrating sealer to extend its life in baths and showers.
Sealants do not make marble stain-proof or waterproof—but they help resist moisture and staining, making regular maintenance easier.
