How to Clean Mirrors
HOW TO CLEAN MIRRORS
- ADVANAGE the Wonder Cleaner®
- Flat-weave microfiber cloths
Doing your morning outfit check only to see cloudy streaks or grime on your mirror? Hard pass.
Mirrors are notoriously easy to smudge—especially in bathrooms. Toothpaste splatter, fingerprints, hairspray residue, steam, and everyday dust all contribute to buildup. Using the wrong tools or technique often makes mirrors look worse, not better.
Why Mirrors Get Streaky
Streaks usually happen when cleaner is sprayed directly onto the mirror and wiped around carelessly. Oils and grime get spread across clean areas, leaving haze behind. Circular wiping motions can also redeposit dirt and oils back onto the glass.
Paper towels and newspapers aren’t ideal either—they often leave lint, dust, or residue. A flat-weave microfiber cloth is the best choice because it cleans without shedding fibers.
A Better Way to Clean Mirrors
Directions for Cleaning Mirrors
For best results, clean mirrors when the surface is cool.
- Prepare Your Cleaning Cloth
Lightly spray ADVANAGE the Wonder Cleaner® onto a clean, dry microfiber cloth.
Avoid spraying directly onto the mirror, as excess liquid can seep behind the glass and damage the backing over time.
- Wipe Methodically
Starting at the top left corner, wipe the mirror in a tight zig-zag pattern across and downward. This prevents spreading residue over clean areas.
- Buff Dry
Use a second, dry microfiber cloth to buff the surface until completely clear and streak-free.
Mirror Care Tips
- Use a fresh microfiber cloth—dirty cloths cause streaks
- Avoid circular wiping motions
- Clean mirrors regularly to prevent heavy buildup
- Never oversaturate the glass
